Greek is the language in which the New Testament was written. It is a very powerful language in that its nouns decline (change form such as actor, actors, actress, actresses) but also contain case (subject, possessiveness, date, accusative, optative) and gender (male, female, neuter). Following is a sample of Greek from the New Testament taken from John 1:1.
